Specializing in Dolphins...

Welcome to the world of wild dolphins!

Since time immemorial dolphins have captured the hearts of men and woman the world over. In Ponta do Ouro on the southern most shores of Moçambique our hearts have been captivated too.....

Within the area exists a special core of individuals whom are affectionally called dolfriends {those who choose to socially engage with humanity}.

Dolphin EnCOuntours has been working in the field of ethical marine mammal tourism since the mid 90’s and offer a unique dolphin encounter that is based on a long term relationship between species that was created by co-founder Angie Gullan after her experience in 1994.

All dolphin encountours follow the specially developed DolphinCareAfrica code of conduct, allowing for non-intrusive viewing on the dolphins terms. No feeding, no coaxing, just you and the our dolfriends of ponta face to face in the big blu! An experience that often leaves one wondering ‘who is actually watching who’!

...MISSION STATEMENT…

To ensure our motto “for the love of dolphins” is incorporated into everything we do.
To create a sustainable world for marine mammals through research, education and conservation.
To operate in integrity and strive towards creating a stress free environment in which inter-species relationships can be explored.

Conscious interaction between species is one of the programs long standing research topics. Pictured here; biologists Diana Rocha (above) observing our dolfriends & Sara Jossul in a behavior we term ‘circle swimming’. Photo Credits: Header & images on this page, thanks to Vernon Harvey.

These are remarkable and intelligent beings and it is a privilege to spend time with them. But we also have a responsibility to protect them. Angie Gullan, creator of dolphin encountours;
